Review: “Take A Listen” by Mala Iwa

This poem reaches the very root of a government that offers nothing for her people to follow. Stiffness, unconcerned about the state of the nation, the colours they paint on the people’s faces.

A poem that seeks to tackle a government with no feelings, not by hassling the government, by touching the hearts of everyone with his words to wake up and correct their mistakes.

No better way to express oneself about a government that seems to have everything wrong tied around her. A wake up call to all Nigerians to actually really listen to the voice of the masses and vote a government that would do everyone right.

Key Message – “Take a listen to this amalgamated, naked, shameless agbadas”
Agbada symbolising a Rich person or a Ruler.
“Please do the right thing” the poet pleads to his Rulers, and to his people, “please take a listen, they careless about you.”
