Review: Reincarnation by Bamvi ft. Phil Dobson.

Reincarnation, just like the name implies, is a poem for the poet’s niece, Jemimah, who is believed to be the reincarnation of her grandmother;
“The reincarnation of my blood lost
Now found in the veils of your eyes.’

The poem’s mood shows that it was heartfelt as the listener could feel the emotions of the poet in his words. Without holding back, Bamvi expresses how he truly feels about his niece who has now replaced his mother.
The poem is relatable to almost everyone who comes across it. For example the line on childbirth;
“I’m yet to understand the mystery of childbirth,
How fluids transcended to bones wrapped in flesh
With lungs for breath this fresh.”
The poet expressed his fear of not wanting to corrupt the girl too;
“But I pray my palms dirty not your innocence,”
and how Jemimah has given him hope;
“Your face is the sun, goodbye dear night.”

Altogether, the poem expresses so much even as it was kept short, simple and straight.
