Review: Reincarnation by Bamvi ft. Phil Dobson.

The poem sends a message to a future self(Poet’s child).
It’s based on a futuristic setting, a time to come in the poet’s life.

Story of how the poet’s lineage continues with the birth of a baby, not a mistake but a surprise to the poet. Without expectations for life came a baby that filled his heart with so much joy and give him reasons to lead a more responsible life.

Why a baby girl? Why not a male child like most Africans would have killed for?

A baby that touched the poet in a way that makes the life he lived before her feel fresh, and all he can do is say prayers for her to not live the life he and the world live today.

Jemimah – a Hebrew given name. One of the meanings is “A fresh start, new beginning.”
Could the poet be referring to a time where his flaws and sins would be erased?

Key Message – “I pray my palms dirty not your innocence”
All that I have done before you, I pray they don’t come after you.
