Self-Esteem

Theme: Self esteem / Self Praise
Title: Hit Me

Fall low below enough to bow
To swing with the pendulum now.

Let your auspices show you how
To be not the talk of the town

Cradle yourself, let your guard down
And follow the steps of the crown.

Choose you this day why not to frown
There’s nothing this universe holds

Ode is to the mother who scolds
To the woman scared of her folds

To the morsel self-pity molds
This is the state of infamy

Time when health seeks for remedy
When fear collects our memory

Era heralding calumny
We are our enemies within

We are why we have never been
Pride, praise or esteem never seen

Why we have cheques so paper thin
We die in a dream we dare not.
