When the sun ushers in the heat
It’s like a nightmare on repeat
The tiny drops between my thighs
I cringe and behold the skies

This same feel that drives lovers mad
An excuse to run around unclad
The Kings and queens of summer
Those who come like the tuneless drummer

The dull ache they long to scratch
In a few months that egg will hatch
These are days of friction-less warmth
They say it is the wind that billows from the north.
