When father decides to lie

I do not know if his stories are true,
but he told me of days
he trekked inter-state distances
with his father’s cows that were
over a thousand.
he would go to the farm
before going to school,
he would then farm for other people
to pay for his school.
his father had more than 15 wives,
could turn sand to salt,
could make rain to fall
and had tied my father under a mango tree
for over a week without food and water.
