Mummies And their Troubles

Mama oyoyo! How can I ever forget?
When you never fail to remind me
Of all my embarrassing moments?
I know you think I owe you, but you owe me too
All my “Happy Christmas” I thought you stored
Magically appeared in every bowl of rice I ate.
Growing taller did not stop you from reaching my cheeks
I got many beatings, I still don’t know why
I see your disapproving smile, even when I’m alone
Warning me not to take those ridiculous dance steps
Those strange eyes of yours are like remote control
It signaled me when not to collect from strangers and;
With a menacing fondness, it told me when I was in deep soup.
