When father decides to lie

My father tells us the truth with lies
And he tells these lies only at night
You’d find them in his stories by the moon light
Or they sometimes come after a meal that tasted nice
Some of them are told to make us happy
Why others are meant to cause us fright
He may tell the lies to prove he’s a pappy
And to make a show of his might
As a child, I grow believing the lies
Because I was yet to see the world with my eyes
I believed that my head will only grow bigger
Like dad’s if my grades get better
My father knows how to fry the truths
Until they all shrink into lies
