there’s only one way to serve my coffee,
the time should either be 7am or 7pm,
It is no longer coffee if it is one minute late or early.
Let it boil until the steam writes poems on the ceiling
and strong black coffee smell
makes exorcism a kindergarten play
in my room,
prayers will not work around here.
The cup my coffee is served inside has to be
the same cup that was made with the mud
of my great grandfather’s tomb.
like melanin my coffee must be black and strong,
cream makes it weak. sugar too.
