I did
But I’m still here
On this side of the road.
Others came,
Did a snake dance without looking
Except at the nose of the cars
And they are there.
Many have crossed
But my concern is
Many have gone
I’m still here
Not anywhere near crossing
The endless rush of cars
While this side is semi clear.
The other side is not
And the distraction of traffic traders
Seeking patronage
I’m interested
But I need to cross to the other side
Others are doing it
Easily
I guess my concern is simple
Even if I want to die
Crossing the road
Is too cheap a way to go .
