As Life Lives

Life is a forceful eye opener
But mine didn’t bloom soon enough
Love is easy to come by, but hurts when it ends
I wish I knew how to shelter my innocence
And that friends will one day turn strangers
Cinderella’s glass slipper will one day shatter
My own intestines are likely to strangle me
I wish knew about my crown, I’d have lived without a frown
Without the scraps I scramble to taste
Life comes with storms, but mine will not swallow me.
