The Note (Incomplete stories)
Fluttering across the blue midday sky, its bright red colour shone beautifully against the fluffy clouds. Maria’s eyes were drawn to the abstract colour against the blue and white scenery, though, it was to be believed she was the only one that fateful day to see it. A thin string flowed gently, tied elegantly around the base of the balloon. Her gaze followed the thread as it slowly floated down from the heavens, where she spotted a rectangular piece of what she seemed to think was an antique newspaper article. It stayed tied to the end; the fine lace never threatening to unravel and loose it’s precious treasure.
Marie had had the worst life could offer , from an ailing mother , a cheating husband to a son who failed to understand tough love. Just the other day the divorce case had been finalized and now having too little on her hand and too much in her chest, her Shrink had advised her to take walks in quite and meditate, believing that it would help her heal from so much brokenness.
She was two blocks away from her apartment when she spotted the red balloon floating unattended to . “ Maybe this is the sign I asked for “ she said to her self before she started following it . Maria had been searching for answers to why her life turned out differently , why peace couldn’t take a chance with her, why she was so much and so little at the same time. Corner after corner it went, blocks unknown it went through and she followed without stopping to think where she was going to. All she had in her mind was the Bible story that mentioned a Paraclete who will teach and guide; this she hoped was her own.
Right on a lawn in a strange Nieghbourhood the balloon finally landed , she rushed for it not minding if she was trespassing, pulled the treasure that was attached to it beautiful lace, opened it and to her surprise it had a message for all of us … it read
“ if you must heal , you will have to let go of what wounded you, Cheers to the life to come.
Start from page one – God”
And that was why she decided to write her story of unbecoming to becoming.
