Pity City

When did we lose these nuts?
Stories that made my night as a child,
Were of heroes who dared to live.
Every course has a cost, and
Every curse has a cause
Who tells the rain when to fall or
The soil how to soak up water?
We pay more to attention than attaining
A state of mind where we attend to ourselves
Can anyone lead us back to light?

Why do we destroy ourselves?
We ought to carry ourselves
On the back like ants working for food.
The world has lost focus
But you have to open your eyes
See beyond this walls
See beyond the emotional ties round your neck
Loosen yourself from chains of reliance
Open the door and let your fears out
Can any save one from their own trouble?
