Review: “Drift” by Leonell Echa
People shed tears after wars. One that is seen and one that isn’t. The son of Echa, Leonell, knows a thing or two about this plight. Being a known lover of peace, he decided to drift.
Gunshots, sounds of agony, words of peace, and anger for war could be heard for the first minute of this message, which perfectly sets the tone for messages to be passed. Messages of hope that are pinpoint every time you listen.
“Before religion and culture, we were all humans.” The speaker passes a message of how much bigotry has torn us apart, but keeping quiet or losing hope is not an option at all. The speaker spoke on rape and it’s consequences on growth of the people. “Daughters are better mothers when not forcefully laid.”
After carefully passing most of of his messages with rhymes to buy his listeners attention, the speaker ended his message with a piece of advice on peace. “Being our brothers keeper is the only and best way to stay alive.”
Peace is not absence of war, it is respect of others opinion. Leonell raised the bar with this one, and I think it is time we all lend ourselves our minds to think about the messages of DRIFT. A worthy listen
