Self-Esteem

Theme: SELF ESTEEM/PRAISE
Title: Perfection is Jail

Wearing specs don’t make me purblind,
I’m more lucid than specs combined.

Dimples swiped to the left and signed,
Smiles more magical than they look.

Brown baked bread from mama’s cook book,
Call my skin a melanin brook.

Svelte but defiant to the Chinook,
Betwixt plump and thin, call me queen.

Teenage looking yet post eighteen,
I could pass for twelve or fifteen.

Vampires don’t age, check between
Silver resistance and sun rays

Like wise, vernal in many ways,
In words and poems and songs that prays.

Call me Darasimi for days,
And your miracles will be apt.

An ambivert, I could adapt,
To the goofy, the weird and rapt.

Your judgement will remain inapt
Perfection is jail, I’m sovereign.
