Too Soft, the Wool is a Tougher Brick

Sometimes gentle and sometimes rough,
Beneath the calm surface, life’s tough.
Sometimes to see well, look away
Sometimes to be strong just act weak
Too much of light can make things bleak
For all we’ve dared to buy, we pay
Dance like the sun on gentle waves
We build our beds, they build our graves
There are wars you’ve won when you pray.

Being soft isn’t being fable
Lay all the cards on the table
Then look closely with your third eye
Sometimes white can also be black
But hunger doesn’t know about lack
Someone would have to pay the prize
Sometimes cowardice can be strength
Only when you go the whole length
Then you may see beyond the ice
