My Addiction

Mary, the only sister of Jane,
Mother to the sad and the depressed,
My sugar, and sometimes my cane,
Major comforter to most of the oppressed.

Awe-inspiring is what you’ve been to me,
Antidote to my scars inflicted,
An artless beauty, we’re meant to be,
Appealing, exciting, and you remain undefeated.

Woozy moments do sometimes hunt,
Writhing around, but I still find joy,
Whether in pain or gain, thou shall hit a blunt,
Wonder if this is my kind of writer’s ploy.

Ominous is what many predict,
Oddly, you are a gift to mankind,
Obliging friend, to your inspirations, I’m an addict,
Omniscient, with you, I see me in front and never behind.
