A Die From The Dice

Bukuru Park

Did you notice how the chirruping stopped
And the birds flew away
Clapping their feathered hands
In praise of your musical voice
Not wanting to compete

Did you notice the match past
As the ants did a parade
The captain, a horn to his lips
Blasting you victory in their territory
Handing over the noon to you

Did you notice how the wind blew less
Until finally their dance they stopped
Dry leaves dropped i n anger
As though their frustration would tell you
The afternoon is yours alone

Let the hidden star bear witness
In the presence of the rain that fell before
And the cloud gathering afresh
A witness also it shall be
To a soul looking for a soul to bond
In a lonely park, all their own .
