Better together

if it was only going to be better
there would have been no room
for a worse to come into
or a room for even you or me
it’s heartbreaking to think
that we only look out for the good
in being together, and
completely ignoring that if
we must stick, then we must
deal with the struggle and fuss
that comes before unity
like waves to ocean,
it’s irreversible
better and worse
are good together.
