Better together

never would a
leaf leave
its branch on its will.
in death and
destruction
they hold on-
twigs to branch
branch to trunk
trunk to roots
roots to earth
earth to nature-
the long they’ve been,
lineage of strength,
fruits, and oneness.
lest they let go to rot
