the words “that” “is” “who” “I” “am”
are the most nauseating,
and ridiculous strings of words
any human has ever made an excuse with.
we must learn to pick ourselves apart
brushing piece by piece
till the colors are right,
till the edges are apt
a man is first, a blank canvas
before everything else he would
ever become.
