this it seems, a chore
the way we recite.
what’s more is, it’s poor
the way we write.
what was before
was angst, the kind that might
spiral, make you abhor
apathy, lackluster or more,
the outcome of a ‘zealess’ rewrite.
but not anymore.
now, we look less for light
move like ants but expect to roar.
we’re without verve, weak despite
all that we know and have in store.
