Sticky notes, highlighters, and fancy inks
have taught me to keep you closer.
We go together like poetry on the lip of one who knows it well enough
I have “diaried” you over and over the pages have learnt to write themselves.
I write I write you into memory, into a memory
into the body of one who once held me honestly
I write you into a song, a chant, a verse I cannot rap around
I sing you into answers, into questions, to comfort.
I sing you into fear of another space to come,
I sing you now, often
My new kind of reincarnation.
