Reply to Robert Frost’s ‘The Road Not Taken’

When they came downstairs
They were holding hands,
All smiling, these plastic smiles
That can melt anytime soon
And the pieces would never get to be together again.
The love was only for the moment.
Just for the two
She got a ring, an engagement ring
A circle that’s going nowhere
So they parted at the door
One going to the north, the other going to the south,
And they never met again
And the promises they didn’t mean to keep
Were never remembered
Life is easier, when fake bonds are broken,
And life walks away
Never to meet again

Bose.
