Reply to Ada Limón’s ‘Lover’

Long Distance

I dare not step out
Into this chilling breeze
I dare not breathe
Lest my world gets frozen

This could be Autumn
In somebody’s evening
I hear cracked lips whisper
It’s not even winter yet

Who wants to go outside?
I laugh at the sound of no reply
On days like this;
Cold bodies meet to stay warm
But for the standing distance
Proud like a brooding mountain
And Mark Zuckerberg slept off
While 3 primary wires tripped
All the love emojis disappeared with them

The world went to sleep
With a lowly tweeting bird
The morning has come
Like it never went a
few steps backwards
We sat and watched it unfold
In all our waiting,
We’ve learnt to move!
