Reply to Rudy Francisco’s ‘Ouch’

as a child,
I was eager to grow
eager for freedom,
eager to ‘blow’

growing older,
the freedom is here,
and I am on a path
to well, to ‘blow.’

but I’ve realized,
no one wants to
remain a child forever,
and it is not worth it
to want to live forever.

Life is only enjoyed
because there’s an end,
and death is just a
lonely phase of living.
