Yesterday! I see we’re lost
in stories too one sided to stand.
The words “I was”
are too weak to draw me
close to purpose.
At this age,
everything sounds like an opportunity ,
even nothingness.
These days will not pass slowly
Neither will the stories,
Or the tenses.
Or the pain of injury
If we seek mortality
as promised by youthfulness
Then ouch!
