The love I wish I had

I like the type of love that falls with no parachutes
no lifelines as backup
no radio signal of an impending breakup.
The type that wakes me in the morning
with a text from the creeks of truth,
the yearning of laughter
from the coves of where I smile,
I wish I had the page that remembers I’m unwell,
while I’m smiling as a facade when I’m hurt,
while I’m eating as a door that shields my anger,
I wish for the one that comes with food
that waits for me when I travel
and return.
that seeks to chase me even for just a day
to remind me it exists in its dreams.
I wish for the one that wants to make it work
like the orbit the sun travels so it works
the type that heals how I feel
but damn these wishes that are never horses.
