The love I wish I had

It was a hot afternoon
And children spread outside
Like bees sucking on yellow petals
Of beautiful flowers
By the river bed.
Along the narrow road
That ran through the village
A mile, a long line of military trucks
Carrying soldiers to the east
To keep the nation at ease.
Three trucks stopped.
A handsome boy in army uniform
My knight in shining armour
Sprinted to me
To demand for water
I poured out my heart in that cup
He drank it all
And sprinted away
With my heart in him
Till now
I’m still searching
For a heart
Trapped in uniform.
