My Kind of Freedom

Freedom comes with songs,
Broken chains, body aches,
New rules and stronger chains
Sorrow is a place not designed
For any man to stay too long
Pick the lessons like beans
And serve with cold reality
Two years long, my heart was locked
Denying, and living in denial
Truth is a friendly neighbor
Always willing to visit every man,
Set a man free, and save him
From the harm he does to himself
Time too can serve as a healing balm
Take some of it, and watch the pain fade.
