Today I am grateful

For goodness followed me
Even though I had lost my voice
For the songs that remained new
And the voices that became friends.
Tears of love and hate
Grace as well as time .
A family still holds me dear ,
Gatsby with a heart that is home,
Mothers who are still virgins
Books and stranger things.

I am thankful I still have my mind
And I can still see in the dark
Dream with eyes open,
Write a line or two.
I am thankful Nirvana remains.
