Working on the world

There is a sea of dirt besides the road,
And the neighborhood is blind to the smell
That deafens the nose with its heavy load.
Not far from the road is the Angwa well,
It is seldom patronised for its smell.
Jinan died of malaria last two weeks,
Mosquitoes in all the crannies and creeks.
Because the change I seek begins with me,
I’ve cleared the dirt and there are no more reeks.
Little by little, the world will be free.
