Frozen Friends

I remember it all like yesterday
A bunch of roses fitted in a vase
Uprooted from the earth sometime in May
A gesture that marked a new friendship clause
Fresh, ornamented, and laid out in grace
But like every fragile thing, we faded
Drifted through emotions until jaded
We are now on different end of the fence
The one that towers hurt and offence
Yet I have love, waiting to be traded.
