Time travels with us always
Life’s journey is like on a motorway,
A driver cannot maintain constant speed.
There are bumps ahead,
Children crossing the road,
Red, Green and Yellow lights,
Sharp corners and bends,
Armed bandits and thieves
And sometimes a few good fuel stations.
As one travels by
There’s a travel partner
Seated at the owner’s corner,
Smiling with eyes and ears closed-
Time.
But it does not wait for you
Even as you drive with it behind.
The travel partner moves,
One second per second,
Sixty second per minute,
Sixty minutes per hour. It moves.
You drive, you change speed,
It moves, you park to take a pee.
It moves, you slow down for kids to cross.
It moves, you stare at 8-looking figures
from the drivers seat; it moves.
Einstein’s theory of relativity
Will not work for you here, now.
But if you can drive through
Life’s journey faster than a second per second,
Then perhaps, just perhaps
Time will slow down for you to catch up.
