Time travels with us always

I’ve taken trips through forgotten roads
I’ve witnessed the horror of burnt bridges
My feet still bares a scar that resembles nostalgia
They say that time heals everything
I see that time has made it as far as I have
Bringing with it all that I left behind
Only in a more unrealistic standard
If we were warned early enough
Maybe, maybe we would have realized
Realized that everything fades, not disappear.

What’s a road trip without ups and downs?
My story began like the first snow in winter
Slowly, and gently dancing in the wind
Sweeping through events upon events
A little care sprinkled here and there
Some things just never let go
Like our minds, our head and heart
We hold unto everything that has a handle
Anything that can ignite something within us
Joy must be an everlasting virtue.

We are reminded of everything about dawn
About the walls, and fences
The blocks we raised and the ones we threw
The souls we painted, and ones we tainted
Now the shadows are scarier
Nothing is the same again
But we remember, we see them falling
The head is still holding what the hands won’t
The pages are still holding unto inks
And time is diligently keeping the pace.
