Love of my Life (With Audio)
Love of my life
Mine is a picture of fairy tales,
A château du Versailles
Filled with sunset, streaming through ivory drapes
From my forehead to my ebony nape
Wedged by strong arms, strung with warmth for days
And whispers as sweet as the blue jays
I am the dreamy eyed child
Mama told me it’s free so I began to build
The face and attributes of the love of my life
The very one that will make me his wife.
He is gentle as the dove, forceful as the wind
He unzips my baggage with kindness, yet he is not blind.
In him is a perfect haven
He shields me from storms, on his shoulder my burdens laden
I crack open with his nut jokes
My tantrums and mood swings he gladly soaks
He reads to me on days that are dark
I swoon in the light when his smiles spark
He holds my hands when I journey through silence
Rare, divine, oozing with saintly incense.
