FIRST YEAR IN THE UNIVERSITY

Sex, malpractice and cults,
Fat, slim, Under-aged and adults,
Personal jokes no longer insults,
Rulers to align grades, pens to shade results,
7 courses in 3 months, tests, notes and classes, difficult,
We just copied and pasted the assignments anyhow
Girls graded girls by the length of their brows,
Boys graded girls by their smile or their frown
In the class, the lecturer would call you a cow,
In his office, you’re his bitch, you’re endowed.
Security guards act immortal, like Greek gods,
Malpractice has levels and methods,
“Bend your head in a way that doesn’t look odd”,
It’s tertiary, teachers don’t use rods
Sex comes to those who understood the puzzle in clubs,
Addressed by my dress sense,
Survival is based on how well I used expenses,
Missing classes would harm my grades, big offence
My handwriting had to sign the attendance itself
How naïve my year was to think this was my path.
