Human Nature: Mengzi (Mencius) Vs Us

Human nature is good.

Tendencies
There is no man who does not tend to do good; there is no water that does not flow downward. Now you may strike water and make it splash over your forehead, or you may even force it up the hills. But is this in the nature of water? It is of course due to the force of circumstances. Similarly, man may be brought to do evil, and that is because the same is done to his nature.”

I agree with mencius’s proposal of human nature.
There’s no such thing as an inbetween or a fence when it comes to the issues of life. Every man was born, first, unaware of the world at large and family they are born to. They are first influenced by family, then the environment. Whatever becomes of any man was planted in him.

Humans have the natural inkling to be good. After creation, God saw what he had done and declared that it was good. Man can tend to tilt towards being bad because the world itself is filled with events and activities that tend to seek for the worse in man.

My nature is likely to tilt towards good. Sometimes I don’t understand myself, I try to number them out in figures, work too much for two Men. My human nature is naturally human, but I can be too humane sometimes.
