Human Nature: Mengzi (Mencius) Vs Us

He picked me by its peak
Flew me to the other side of midnight
There I was
Believing I sinned
But I didn’t
I was just born that way

Mencius is wrong.
Just as the appetite for food ,
The appetite for sex is born inward
So it is
The appetite for righteousness,
The appetite for right doing,
Is born on the inside.

It is a longing
It is a searching
It is more than a feeling
It is a connecting
With God

A whole lot of me
Yearns for a whole lot of you
I’m not a reed
I do not flow up
I do not flow down
The river may carry my body
The river cannot carry my soul
I choose to stay grounded on the shore.

I’m born of a will
I’m born of a choice
There is a king in me
There is a priest in me
I’m all wrapped in Him
I’m the righteousness of God
In Christ Jesus .
And before you discover this
You are Mencius
You flow up
You flow down
With the river .
