SESAME STREET

A child this young would play i remember
For the fun and wonder I’d say i remember

Sesame Street was home far away
It’s been since 1969 but i remember

Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster
Count von Count too i remember.

Kermit, dammit! There was also a song
Naught about sesame seeds i remember.

Set on a city street in all their numbers
Adults were the children i remember.

One would have thought that Grouch got an Oscar
But the name was his gift and wit as i remember

Once upon a time and a puppet named Dawn
Pink was a daughter and a colour i remember.

The happier you are, the happier you’d be
Happiness was all it taught i remember

From the Muppet’s falsetto voice
Being a kind noise if i remember

Sesame Street completed everything
I am Elle, the Elmo that i remember.
