Win If You Would

Loss always has a certain kind of smell;
Irking. You need not come so close to tell
Lead me! Lead me! To where i’d win!
Open the door and let me in!
Ignore the many dogs and their barking
Lead me to the tracks where i’ll be marking.

Yes! Yes! They often start on a conquest
At best, let friendship end in a contest.
Run off! Run off! Don’t go that way!
Loss is why we recall to pray.
Burn more than the candles! Chop off the wood!
Run off! Or skew in wonder if you would!

Seek not attention in all that you do.
Drink from the breast focus fetched from for you
Get up! Get up! Get out of here
drag your feet as fast if you dare.
Wake in the morning and wake in the light!
Get up! Crack open and bury the night.
