Thank you, all the same

If gratitude has a soul, it’d be dead
Oil on head will run dry like the fig tree
If we do receive and not say “thank you”

Don’t be rude. Gratitude is a virtue.
When tomorrow comes the entry sealed be
How can we lock doors and toss keys ahead?

From your heart, to your lips, let it be said
No matter how very small comes plenty
Bow your heart like the start of a kung-fu

Each phrase draws
blessing on you like tattoo
Show how grateful you’re with your bent knee
Like butter to bread, should gratitude spread

Forget not, say “thank you” when you receive
Forget not to say thank you ” when you give.
