Raindrops on Roses

A beauty to behold
A union that promises freshness,
And growth
A sight that brings calm to a troubled heart
Like a gentle flow of water, and soft music.
Rain on roses, reign of glory.

The earth is a beauty to behold,
But, like a rose with thorns
She is a destructive beauty.
With proper care, and touch
I can tell what her beauty feels like
Otherwise,
Like a viper protecting her eggs
Her sting is quick to make blood flow
From a finger, that is stranger
to the art of love, and tenderness.
Reign of terror.

On a garden bed of love, and affection
I’ll sow my love,
Tenderly caring, and grooming,
my young,
And watch her bloom into a beauty
far above thorns.
It’s a blessing to have beautiful roses,
grow on thorns.
