When To Quit

When your sun in the sky has found that cave,
or your belly begins to drum like death.
Know it’s time to quit, it’s time for the grave.

Whenever your success has caught its breath,
And suddenly your ground has no more work.
Know its time to quit, don’t become Macbeth.

When that love which you seek begins to irk,
And you check the gauge to see there’s no gas.
I beg, just quit. No need to go beserk.

School may be hard, when you’re the last in class.
And you get worked up, you can’t make and ark.
Just say ‘Dear Hands, don’t make me a jackass’.

When we should quit may not come with a mark,
but look closely, it may come with a spark.
