Poetry: Difference Between A promise and a Vow

If I make a vow
I do it to the Lord
With piety
As I seek his face
Concerning the needs in my life
Believing He will do what he promised to do
For my example is Hannah
Who vowed and dedicated the son back to God

If I make a promise to you
It’s because we have a relationship
I intend to keep it
As long as my human strength allows
For what I can give
Is only human
What God gives
Is eternal
