Poetry: Difference Between A promise and a Vow

One is a statement of will,
The other, a verb that shall be.
Behind one’s license to kill,
Is an order from the other to set free.
One is a bucket of hope
Holding forever together.
The other is the cassock of the Pope
Leaving the Vatican never.

Both are likes glasses in our hands;
On a slippery floor,
Two or more
Could be broken at a glance.
Like the lock and the key,
They can open and close.
What degree they agree to disagree,
Is a chance to cover or expose.
