Poetry: Baa, baa, black sheep

Baa, baa, black sheep
Your colour precedes you
Eccentric and bold
Everyone wants a black wool
Yet they bleach you white
Afraid to wear nature’s art
Your wool is buried deep in pride

Baa, baa, black sheep
You should know you birth all civilisation
Your wool is an absorbing bliss
No taint can stain you
Know you have no master
As you give out your wool,
Keep some for your shivering soul…

Omolola Onigbinde

Baa baa black sheep
Any life hacks?
Yes dear, yes dear, think I’ve got a few.
Hold your friends close,
Your foes are closer than you think.
Take a chill pill
Every time your anger boils.

Baa baa black sheep
Any life hacks?
Yes dear, yes dear, try to cross a few!
Don’t burn all your bridges.
There are still oceans to cross.
Test all your limits
Till you reach an elastic end.

Baa Baa black wolf
I see your spots
Imprinted on lazy walls
You curse and bite
Your life is a blissful lie
Envy is your fast meal
Your claws can’t sharpen.

Baa Baa white sheep
Where is your goal?
Did you leave it for the wolf?
It mocks your fallen drive
Tells you a swift truth
To swerve you from the truth
Watch and play but pray still.

Rachel Charles

Baa, baa, black sheep,
Are you a wolf?
Yes ma, yes ma, under the fur,
At twilight you howl,
Your prey you tear to protect your territory,
Strong and feisty,
Yet with juvenile and yearlings you play

Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you seen the moon?
Yes sir, yes sir, white and full,
Beautiful and sublime,
The earthly lamp,
Brightening the dark heart,
Maybe it turns you back to white.
