Poetry: The spider and the fly (A Nursery Rhyme)
The spider and the fly
A Web and the sky
A spider uses limbs
And a fly uses wings
A spider play tricks
That makes a fly hit bricks
The spider and the fly
A Web and the sky
Hybrid.

One was a spy
The other could fly
One had a creepy walk
The other, a noisy talk
“Be my friend,” the spy said.
With his life the fly paid
One was a spy
The other could fly.

I still don’t know how i hurt that fly
It got caught in the web and i don’t know why
The spider, they said, had warned with a sign
Until the fly flew faint and crossed that line.
Now the fly is tied up, his legs and his hands
The spider caressing the whip in his hand
I still don’t know how i hurt that fly
It got caught in the web and i don’t know why

One spins and spurns
Its mate disturbs and runs
But its victory flight
Gets held for a fight
With the old enemy web
Which will lead to an ebb
One spins and spurns
Its mate disturbs and runs

The spider cannot bite me
The fly cannot see me
I am a very smart kid
I say bye to dirt bid
Wash my hands when I eat
I tap the floor, oh! Happy feet
The spider cannot bite me
The fly cannot see me

Mr fly flew in search of a friend
Sadly he only ran to his end
Mr spider pretended
And got Mr fly suspended,
In a blanket of webs Mr fly lay
Wishing he never came to play
Mr fly flew in search of a friend
Sadly he only ran to his end

The spider and the fly
Two best friends. What a lie!
One loves to play
The other is a prey
To a fly, flying is freedom
To a spider, hunting is wisdom
The spider and the fly
Two best friends. What a lie!

You would fall off the earth
If you go beyond your nest
Same goes for you
Winged or webbed, watch what you do
Wings can be snapped
Fortresses entrapped
You would fall off the earth
If you go beyond your nest.

Eight legs with a fang
On its Webb the fly always hangs
Decorating its wall
In hardship praying to never fall
One, two, there you go.
Towards the wrong road you know
Eight legs with a fang
On its Webb the fly always hangs
