Poetry: One was a shadow!

1

Oh sing a lullaby
Looking in a stranger’s eye!
The first idea is beautiful
The next will make you cry.

Once there were two strangers
But only one knew
One had become a friend
As tall as the bond grew
Their feelings sat on a bus
But to each there was never a word
As they came closer to time
And laughed in the sun’s face
One began to look away
Affection began to erase
The other opened like a plant sprouting to embrace
But feelings are like shadows,
Sometimes they hide behind
Other times they stand in front of you.

Oh sing a lullaby
Looking in a stranger’s eye
The first i hear is beautiful
But the next will make you cry.

Shadows are like mirrors
Without the detailed horrors
But a shadow tells tale
Of the stand point of their figures

Figure right, shadow left
Flood lights, shadow births
A million shadows like a circle
Shadow don’t lead figure
Figure became oblivious
Once a shadow grew an emotion
A shadow wanted to stand right
But figure left into the dark of the night
There, shadow got lost in darker shadows
Neither was figure there
Nor could shadow shadow
Without a figure to shadow
A shadow lost it’s dreams of the meadow
Of floating in a puddle real shallow

Shadows are like mirrors
Without the detailed horrors
But a shadow tells tale
Of the stand point of their figures

In lingering faded black
He stoops to hack
Spirits wanting his spirit
In combat, soul swords clack

They tormented in shadows
Breathing in his essence
Exhaling smokes of his burnt dreams
Imprisoning his instincts for freedom
In shadows they became victorious
Chanting to keep portals open
They left his dark image on the wall
Gracing his body to filth
His spirit became one with them
He oozed of sinister vibes
On days his spirit soared
His sword was blunt to evil
His screams were laced with defeat
Bear in mind the light overcomes again…

In lingering faded black
He stoops to hack
Spirits wanting his spirit
In combat, soul swords clack

One is a shadow
Chased across the meadow
The stick was at home
Made prominent by the night’s glow

Chasing a light across the desert
Propelled by the wind
Defying sand and heat
Sustained by far apart trenches
Only to end up with a flicker
The road shone by the sun
Darkened by the moon’s unsteady seasons
The star’s intensity
Forgotten with the absence of a twinkle
Chocked by an outer zeal
Mindless monotonous acts
Become water over a raging passion
One is the substance
One is the appearance of it

One is a shadow
Chased across the meadow
The stick was at home
Made prominent by a night’s glow

I illuminated my thought
With a bright voice
Flashing every dot
In the ears of my mind with a shot

Lights smiling at all loopholes
Granting dark face to none
Digging out each beauty
From hidden places
All beautiful faces
But not all are bright
Though lights all round
But one with a blind eye
And a big shade on.
Staring at a dark pretty face
One awaiting light
Kept seeing an opaque
All lights flashing light
But one was a shadow.

I illuminated my thought
With a bright voice
Flashing every dot
In the ears of my mind with a shot.

Late night flashes.
War ground, sound marches.
Skeletons in embedded forsaken colours.
Day old cradle in patches.

Needless inspiration.
Needing more wanting.
Before creation.
Splashes of blue.
Purple over outer space.
Desperation over sanity.
Self-creation.
Strongly bringing out the worst in me.
Poker chips, jokers and chess.
Playing against numbers.
Alphabets in mutual feelings.
Retracting self-consciousness.
Televised feeling of poison.
“Jeepers creepers” in shadows.

Late night flashes.
War ground, sound marches.
Skeletons in embedded forsaken colours.
Day old cradle in patches.

They said she had a name
Her name became her shame
She paid no heed and claimed in deed
But still remained the same

Buckets of trust
Pages of lust
Kettles of boiled forgiveness
Kindness a must
Envy to dust
Adam abhorred her “Eveness”
Standing as two
Fading in lieu
Together alone she grouped
Her crowd became so lonely
Then the shades began to all fall
The first was her
The second was not
The third was friend to her scar

They said she had a name
Her name became her shame
She paid no heed and claimed in deed
But still remained the same

One was a shadow
That two couldn’t let go
no matter how much one fled
two sought him beneath a candle’s glow

Like dreams that pester,
like ceaseless rains,
she would not let go
of my heart, my soul.
Sometimes it was I,
chasing her brown eyes
Her laughter and disarming smiles
sometimes it was her fingers…
Or was it my tongue,
Magically locked with hers?
Until one breathless dawn
Beneath her seraphic bosom,
I screamed for air, for freedom and God!
I watched blood gush and life bled because…

One was a shadow
That two couldn’t let go
no matter how much one fled
two sought him beneath a candle’s glow

‘Enjoy the beats of your heart
Sing to the rhythm of this art
Let faith find hope here
Amidst these paths darkness starts’

I was once afraid of sunsets
Scared when the nights call near
Enclosed in the shell of my fears
Threatened when the moon dare bye
For I thought I was alone
When thick darkness shut my sun
I felt entrapped by a lone
Till my shadows call out loud:
‘From hence forth free your spirit
Let your feathers soar you high
Above the winds of doubt
In a distant shore closer to you
For I’m always within your grasp’

‘Enjoy the beats of your heart
Sing to the rhythm of this art
Let faith find hope here
Amidst these paths darkness starts’

Hand in hand we walked
All night long we talked
Each discuss a burning mystery
Tired and spent, we sulked.

Feet as quiet as a mouse
Crossed each road with gentle strides
Changing shapes and growing forms
Knowingly we grew attached
Counted stars to pass the time
Tears lingered in slithered corners
We embraced once in a while
Finally we reached his heart
Passed his threshold, drowned his mind
The welcoming a perfect treat
He brought refreshments just for one
I turned around and asked for yours
His silence said i came alone
The other was a shadowed nymph.

Hand in hand we walked
All night long we talked
Each discuss a burning mystery
Tired and spent, we sulked.
