Poetry: MY FATHER’S DAUGHTER | Prudence Obadan-Enujiofor

strong2
In your loins; I lay waiting,
After mat.ins, was a human mating,
On nature’s back, I rode to earth.
On arrival-arrived also, my piercing vocal rebellion.
A marriage of tears and laughter;
A room laden with emotions.
In love, you nurtured this seed,
You resolved; to make a replica of you.
I aged,
You aged too.
Under your watchful eyes,
I made my mistakes.
You let it be,
You had your reasons.
When I look back,
I know it’s worth it,
Cause I learnt from the best.
I may not be my father,
But I am surely, my
Father’s daughter.
